Frequent Ward Services

This is a list of Frequent Requests made by residents, the proper steps for residents to submit these requests and how the City of Chicago and/or our office can assist with them

Abandoned Vehicles

The City of Chicago requires vehicles to have been there over 7 days without being moved or used. Please have the exact address the car is sitting in front of, general description, and license plate.

Missed Garbage/Recycling

Streets and Sanitations has stated to report a missed garbage or recycling pick-up when the official business day is over in case the pick-up may happen later in the day. Also, please indicate if it was the whole alley/block that was missed or just your address. If you are unsure of your usual pick-up day, please use this link to find your schedule.

Branches on Wires in Alley

The City of Chicago is not responsible for the wires in the alleys as they belong to cable companies or utility companies. If there are branches on the wires going pole-to-pole please call the number/s below to put in a ticket. The cable and utility companies have stated that if the branches are on the wires going from the pole to the home, it is the home-owner's responsibility. You will need to hire a professional service to perform the work and they should have specialists who deal with branches on live wires. If they do not feel comfortable addressing the issue with live wires, they will need to call the cable/utility companies to cut the service while they perform the work.
