Winter Preparedness Fair Information
Beginning November 5, 2008 through December 20, 2008, the Department of Environment (DOE) will be coordinating Mayor Daley's Winter Preparedness Fairs at fourteen locations throughout the City (see list of locations below).
These events serve as a "one-stop-shop" for Chicago residents to address their winter energy related needs. In addition to receiving a free home weatherization kit, attendees will have the opportunity to apply for a variety of utility subsidy and City assistance programs, determine "hardship" classification, receive direct access to a variety of Chicago non-profit organizations providing energy related assistance, and learn no-cost and low-cost ways to reduce energy consumption.
