MAYOR DALEY'S

SUMMER TRACK PROGRAM

 

Mayor Daley's Summer Track Program is a free, introductory track and field initiative for youth ages 14 and under.

Teams representing many of Chicago's aldermatic wards will compete in meets through the summer as they race to be named city-wide champs.

The program will run from June through August and is open to all physical and visual abilities.

HATS OFF to the 9th Ward volunteers for participating in such an important event !!!!

  The 9th Ward Alderman's office, volunteers & the Chicago Fire Department worked together on Saturday May 22, 2010 to ensure the installation of 2 to 3 new smoke detectors in each home  with a life span of 10 years.

The Alderman would like to thank our seniors and the constiuents for their cooperation and assiting in the success of the program in our ward.

*Resident that did not receive a smoke detector, please feel free to come into the Ward  office and pick up 2detectors while supplies last.

The Sign Amnesty Program

 

The program officially begins April 15. The Sign Amnesty Program will allow existing businesses with existing on- premise signs to apply for building and public way use permits and have all fees waved for (1) year.

 

Benefits to the business include:

  • Avoid paying a building permit fee, dependent upon size of sign, can range from $50- $100;
  • Avoid paying Zoning review fee (as part of the building permit process): $200.00;
  • Avoid paying the first year's piblic way use fee, dependant upon size of sign, can range from $100- $300;
  • Avoid paying Administrative Hearing fines and cost(s) for failure to have the required permit(s).
